METHUEN (MCTV) — Congratulations to our Methuen High School Interns from the 2018-2019 Semesters. Their Promotional Spot “You Can Too” has won National Recognition through the Alliance for Community Media Hometown Awards. They have received the First Place Award for Access Program Promo in the Student Programming Division.

The Hometown Media Awards program was established to honor and promote community media and local cable programs that are distributed on Public, Educational and Government access cable television channels.

Each year, a panel of judges evaluates over a thousand entries based on several factors including subject, experience and budget. Awards are then presented to the most creative programs that address community needs, develop diverse community involvement, challenge conventional commercial television formats and move viewers to experience television in a different way.

These students certainly did this. The four minute piece is a collection of movie and television genres, each produced by a different student and then strung together as a changing channels segment. It creates a very different way to enjoy the television watching experience.
