METHUEN (MCTV) — Methuen Community Television is proud to announce the creation of the Dave Skelly Memorial Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is named in memory of DAVE SKELLY, the first President of Methuen Community Television. His vision was clear that MCTV should be a vibrant and relevant organization dedicated to serving the citizens of Methuen.

From 1996 to 2004, Dave was the Board President who helped start MCTV and move it forward into the Branch Street location in 2003. He worked on many productions including Ranger High School Sports, Methuen Santa Parade, Veterans Spotlight, Canine Connections, and others. Dave served in the US Marines and worked for the City of Methuen in the Inspections department until he retired.

Methuen Community Television will be holding various fundraisers to support this scholarship. Friends and family are welcome to donate in Dave’s name by sending a check to Methuen Community Television.

This scholarship is open to Methuen residents only. As mentoring the next generation was important to Dave Skelly, this scholarship is OPEN to students who are just starting or currently attending college or other post high school programs. Preference may be given to students who have a connection to MCTV as former interns, active members or family of those who are involved here.

To apply, please download the form and return it by the deadline of April 10, 2020. The announcement will be made in May. Decisions of the Committee will be final. Students are encouraged to apply again if they do not receive a scholarship this year.
