In regional competition this year, “SNAFU” won first place in the category of Arts & Theatre programming by non-professionals. Written, produced and edited by Methuen Residents Christopher Torres and Peter Tsaklis, this original comedy sketch program featured bits on a proctologist at a class reunion, a talk show about the "nature of man" and an “infomercial” for a product endorsed by Lorena Bobbitt.
Methuen resident Rosa Croughwell’s program “Sharon Morley Student’s Art Show” won a third place award in Documentary Event by non-professionals. This half hour video chronicled an art show featuring young local artists including Croughwell’s daughter.
In the professional category of Science and Nature, MCTV’s “Around the Valley with Bruce Arnold” was awarded second place for a program about solar energy. The program blends the talent of both staff and MCTV volunteer members. The regional contest drew nearly 400 entries from all over New England and New York. |
