More than 1,000 programs entered the Alliance for Community Media (ACM) Hometown Media Awards in 70 catagories.  Methuen Community Television is pleased to announce that another volunteer-produced program,  “Behind the Scene with Hector Montalvo”,  has won first place in this national competition. In the category of “Democracy in Action”,  Montalvo’s program competed against other volunteer producers around the country who create original local programs for their access TV stations that focus on participation in the democratic process.  The winning episode was the Mayoral Candidates Forum with Stephen Zanni and Al DiNuccio last fall hosted by Montalvo.

The Hometown Media Awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency  in Chicago, Illinois. The awards are for first place and honorable mention only.  Last year, “Call to Serve” hosted by Kathleen Corey Rahme, won first place in the category of “Programming for Seniors.”
